After the Taiwan Ministry of Defense denounced that the chinese armed forces transit with a combat plane and an anti-submarine helicopter through the air defense identification zone of the island, military drills began.

In this way, Shi Yi, a spokesman for the Chinese Army, affirmed that these actions are a “warning against collusion between separatist forces seeking Taiwan independence and outside forces”.
Meanwhile, It was reported from Taiwan that 11 warships and 70 Chinese planes were detected around the island todayafter having sighted nine ships and 71 planes the day before.
The maneuvers began after the Taiwanese president, Tsai Ing-wenhas met with the leader of the United States House of Representatives, Kevin McCarthyin which he expressed his country’s “unwavering support” for Taiwan.
It should be remembered that both countries separated in 1949, after a civil war in which the communists seized power in mainland China and where the nationalists withdrew to Taiwan. Likewise, Beijing still considers the island part of its territory.
