A car driver lost control of his vehicle on Monday morning on the A14 near Frastanz and crashed into the central guard rail.

The 53-year-old car driver was traveling on the A14 in the direction of Tyrol at around 9 a.m. when he skidded near Frastanz for an unknown reason and crashed into the central guardrail. From there, the vehicle spun from the fast lane to the normal lane and finally came to a standstill again after about 160 meters in the fast lane.

Recovered via passenger door

The driver was rescued through the passenger door by accidentally passing rescue workers, then given first aid by the notified rescue workers and taken to Feldkirch Regional Hospital with injuries of an unspecified degree.

The fast lane of the A14 was closed while the accident was being recorded. During the clean-up work, the Amberg tunnel was closed for about 40 minutes in the direction of Tyrol.
