The unmanned cargo ship “Tianzhou-6” successfully docked with the Chinese space station “Tiangong” (Heaven’s Palace) today. The three astronauts waiting there were scheduled to unload the cargo, according to China’s space agency. The “Heavenly Ship” took off smoothly from the Wenchang Spaceport on the southern Chinese island of Hainan the day before.

Among other things, “Tianzhou-6” has food on board, including 70 kilograms of fresh fruit, as well as daily necessities, spare parts and 600 kilograms of fuel. The first cargo flight after the regular commissioning of the space station since the beginning of the year serves to prepare for the upcoming crew change.

International experts expect the launch of “Shenzhou-16” (Magic Ship) with three astronauts on May 25th. They are to replace the three-man crew after six months in space.
