After the Municipality of Chorrillos decided drain the water from the pool representing the district, its new mayor Fernando Velasco He assured that he agrees with the decision adopted by the previous management and assured that the place that houses a large number of visitors will not be filled with water again.

The burgomaster even stated that it is not the residents of Chorrillos who monopolize the pool and use it as a swimming pool, but that most of them are people from other districts such as San Juan de Lurigancho and Comas.
In statements for the news program “Good morning, Peru,” the recent district mayor assured that the pool is a risk for people who enter it, since a tragedy can occur due to exposed cables.
“That pool has electricity cables that go under it, thank God a misfortune has not happened because some child could have removed a high electricity cable. They are pools that have water pumps that work under pressure and that demand too much electricity. The previous municipality took the water out of the pool, we have to change our way of thinking,” he said.
MAYOR OUTRAGED WITH THE USE OF POOL
Although at all times in his statements he confused the Chorrillos pool with a swimming pool, the mayor was outraged by the use that other district residents give to the place. He assures that they even start playing pichanga.
“Although yesterday the pool (water from the pool) had been removed, we found that a group of residents, not even from Chorrillos, but from San Juan de Lurigancho, from Comas, who had come to the beach of Agua Dulce and they were using the pool to play their pichanguita in a Creole way. So, yesterday we sent the troops, that pool (pool) is not going to be filled and it is a shame because it is part of the tourist attraction, ”he added.
