George Russell takes advantage of the clash between Verstappen and Norris to conquer Austria

SPIELBERG-. George Russell achieved Mercedes’ first victory of the season in the Austrian Grand Prix of the Formula 1 on Sunday after he took advantage of a clash between McLaren’s Lando Norris and championship leader Max Verstappen of Red Bull.

This is the second victory for the Briton.

McLaren’s Oscar Piastri was second followed by Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz Jr.

Norris was trying to pass Verstappen on lap 64 to take the lead when the mishap occurred. The incident left Norris unable to continue and Verstappen received a 10-second penalty.

Verstappen had been dominating the weekend after his victory in Sunday’s sprint race and another strong performance in qualifying to take pole.
