Just a year and a half after his move to Olympique Marseille, Gerson is returning to his former club. As Flamengo officially announces, the transfer is done. The Brazilian club from Rio de Janeiro does not provide any information on the length of the contract.

Gerson switched from Flamengo to Marseille in the summer of 2021 for 20 million euros. After a strong debut season with 16 goals (nine goals, seven assists), the 25-year-old midfielder was not doing well this season. FT had already reported a few days ago about the upcoming change of the left foot, now the deal is dry. According to information from this editorial team, Flamengo will pay 20 million, the same amount that Marseille transferred to Brazil a year and a half ago.
