According to a leak that is currently by Kuba Wojciechowski on Twitter making the rounds, Google could currently be working on its own solution for a smart tracking device in the style of Apple’s AirTag. The code name of the device is “grogu”, and the Google Nest team is responsible for the development. Also like the AirTag, the device should have a small, built-in speaker and support both ultra-wideband technology and Bluetooth Low Energy. Unfortunately, further, reliable information about the tracker is currently missing, and there are currently no reports regarding any publication periods or the like. It can be assumed that Google could reveal more about this at the next Google I/O.
