The show’s judge, Keith Brymer Jones, ended in tears after smashing several pottery efforts from a contestant.

Keith was joined by fellow judge Rich Miller, and the pair challenged the show’s contestants to create anniversary tea sets as well as handleless milk jugs.

One of the hopefuls of the show, Christophe, 36, had trouble taming clay.

Unhappy with what he’s done so far, Christophe tells Keith, “I don’t think I’ve ever thrown anything this bad before.”

Keith then banged his creation with his fist, before tossing it in the trash.

He told the contestant, “I think we’ll get rid of that one,” before breaking another piece of pottery, adding, “It’s pants!”

Christophe told the judge: “I just did my best.”

The architect had also created two milk jugs, but was not completely satisfied with them.

Keith admitted he was “reluctant to throw those two away”, before he began to choke.

He finally continued, “I know what it is, you know.

“We’re asking you to do this thing under pressure, so it’s a tall order.”

Christophe replied: “Yes, this is completely new for me”, to which Keith replied: “Well done, well done, Christophe because at least you try.”

Fans of the show took to Twitter to comment on how healthy it was to see a man show his emotions.

One wrote: “Yeah it might just be potty but Keith crying on #potterythrowdown is such a positive thing for men everywhere.”

They added: “He makes me go every time and I’m very grateful to him for that.”

Great Pottery Throw Down continues Sunday at 7.45pm on Channel 4.
