In this regard, the users’ association insists that the National Government and the EPS and IPS are responsible for speaking of true figures and reconciling them. “Uncertainty cannot continue to be generated and, on the contrary, a message of responsibility and transparency must be sent to patients,” they said in a statement.
The users also highlighted that they understand that this debt has accumulated from previous years, but they insist that it is the Government’s responsibility to find an effective payment method, and it may even be deferred over time.
“Currently, a health reform is under discussion, but while the
Congress of the Republic decides the future, It is the responsibility of the National Government
financially manage the health system, not only in relation to the debt mentioned above, but also with the valuation of the UPC, that although it was adjusted, it continues to be underfunded,” they stated.
Likewise, in terms of health care, the association requested the immediate management of the drug crisis, the strengthening of the network of providers and the improvement in the opportunity of health care.

“From the User Associations we remain convinced that sincere dialogue and
fraternal, will allow us as a society to advance in the strengthening of the health system, prioritizing above all those territories of deep Colombia, reason for which we request a space with the Ministry of Health in which we can express our concerns and our coincidences with the proposed reform”, they concluded.
