Monthy Python still makes people laugh and the show is coming (once again) to France! In 1975, the Monthy Python troupe signed the film Holy Grail. A humorous feature film whose common thread is the quest for the Grail, with the characters of King Arthur and the knights of the round table. The story is told in the form of isolated episodes, as the troupe is wont to do. Faced with the success of this film, the British band decided to adapt the scenario on the Broadway stage through a musical, Spamalot. This show crossed the Channel and inspired the greatest comedians, like PEF, whose real name is Pierre-François Martin-Laval. In 2010, the comedian decided to adapt the musical Spamalot in its French version. Ten years later, Pierre-François Martin-Laval decided to experience this adventure once again.

From Helena Noguera to Alex Goude

The show Spamalot is back on stage at the Paris theater since September 28. For the general event, people came in large numbers to witness this new version. During the photocall, Héléna Noguera, Alex Goude, Maurice Barthélemy and Isabelle Ithurburu were present to discover the 2023 version of Spamalot. Comedians, singers, presenters, actors… all seem to appreciate the humor of Monthy Python and PEF, which manages to adapt the craziest sketches of the English troupe into French.

A successful general

For this new adaptation, PEF is once again directing and distributing this show. For this show, the former Robin Hood wanted to stay faithful to the film.except there are funny songs and stupid dances!“. He also explains to France Culture that he added his “modest little paw” with some gags and scene exits. But the most purists can rest assured, they will find killer rabbits or even horseless knights on stage; Monthy Python trademark.
