Snowstorms, floods, landslides and mudslides ravaged California for weeks. Two hikers have died in the mountainous region around Los Angeles in recent weeks, and another is missing.
Now it is clear: The missing person is the British series star Julian Sands (65, “Dexter”).

The actor left for a trip to the Mount Baldy area last Friday and hasn’t returned, the sheriff’s office said, according to media reports.
When Sands didn’t return, his family reported him missing that same day.

Sands has appeared in numerous film and television productions for around 40 years, including “Leaving Las Vegas”, “Smallville”, “24” and “Dexter”. He is said to be a passionate hiker and regularly in the area.
Rescue teams searched the mountainous region around Los Angeles. It’s still covered in snow and ice. As the sheriff’s office “CNN” announced, they had to stop the operation after 24 hours due to bad weather and the risk of avalanches.
The search for the actor continues by plane and helicopter. Drones are also used.
Mount Baldy is officially called Mount San Antonio and is around 3000 meters high. It is a popular destination for hikers and skiers. Because of the inclement weather, the sheriff’s office had warned against hiking just a day before Sands’ disappearance.
There is still no trace of the actor.
