Hezbollah member killed in Israeli attack in Lebanon

MIAMI.- At least one member of the Lebanese Shiite militia party Hezbollah and two members of his family died in an attack carried out on Tuesday night by the Israeli Army against a house in the town of Bint Jbeil, in the south of Lebanon.

The attack occurred hours after another attack against a vehicle in the city of Qlaié, which left two other people dead.

Hezbollah indicated that among the dead is Ali Ahmed Baziwhom he described as “a martyr on the road to Jerusalem,” according to the Al Manar television network, linked to the group, in a brief message on the social network X along with a photo of the deceased.

The other two killed in the Israeli bombing were identified as a Lebanese couple who would be Bazi’s own family. In addition to the deceased, there is a fourth person injured, as reported by the newspaper ‘L’Orient Le Jour’, which has indicated that it is the first attack against this town since the beginning of hostilities between both countries more than two months ago.

The group has also claimed responsibility for nearly a dozen attacks against Israeli territory during the day on Tuesday, as well as the launch of several projectiles earlier in the day, which caused anti-aircraft alarms to go off in northern Israel.

Israel and Hezbollah have been engaged in fighting on the border following the terrorist attacks carried out on October 7 by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) against the south of Israel, which left nearly 1,200 dead and around 240 kidnapped, according to the balance sheets of the Israeli authorities.

Hezbollah, supported by Iran, considers that its terrorist actions are operations in support of Palestinian armed groups against the Israeli military force, which unleashed an offensive against the Gaza Strip after Hamas attacks. This situation has raised fears of an expansion of the conflict to neighboring Lebanon and even the entire region.
