HISD announces series of community meetings at various schools

HOUSTON – Through a press release, Superintendent F. Mike Miles announced a series of events designed especially for families in the Houston Independent School District (HISD). These meetings are intended to provide detailed information on the superintendent’s vision for the school district.

The calendar of events is presented below:

  • Forest Brook High School (7525 Tidwell Rd) – June 27 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm
  • Pugh Elementary (1147 Kress St) – July 11 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm
  • MC Williams High School (6100 Knox St) – June 29 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm
  • Marshall High School (1115 Noble) – July 13 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm
  • Hattie Mae White (4400 W. 18th St.) – July 18 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm
  • Virtual – July 20 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm
  • Sugar Grove (8405 Bonhomme Rd) – July 27 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm
  • West Briar (13733 Brimhurst Dr) – July 29 from 9:00 to 11:30 am
  • Stevenson High School (9595 Winkler Dr) – August 1st from 6:00 to 7:30 pm
  • Attucks High School (4330 Bellfort St) – August 2nd from 6:00 to 7:30 pm

“When I took office two weeks ago, I told HISD families that their children are the reason I’m here, and now I feel like this is even more urgent,” said Miles. “I take great pleasure in meeting with our families and students to get to know them, just as I have had the privilege of getting to know our educators.”

Families will have the opportunity to register for the event they wish to attend and submit questions to the superintendent and his team prior to each meeting. In addition to these meetings, families from New Educational System (NES) schools will be invited to school community meetings that will be held in July and August.
