TSG Hoffenheim started out hopefully under coach André Breitenreiter in the past few months. The Kraichgauers have been waiting for a win since mid-October – too long a dry spell to leave the 49-year-old trainer in office.
Yesterday, Sunday, those responsible for TSG decided to release Breitenreiter, and this step is to be officially announced this Monday. ‘Bild’ now brings a possible successor into play. It is an old acquaintance from the Bundesliga.
Specifically, Pellegrino Matarazzo, who worked for VfB Stuttgart until a few months ago. The 45-year-old American earned a lot of respect from the Swabians by first leading VfB to promotion in 2020 and then keeping it in the Bundesliga with highly attractive football in the years that followed.
