World Pizza Day was celebrated on February 9.. It is one of the most famous and loved foods worldwide. The origin of pizza as we know it today dates back to Naples, Italy.

Over time it became popular throughout Italy, and then spread throughout the world. There are many variants of pizza, thinner, thicker, with yeast, with sourdough, infinite combinations of flavors, from the most traditional to the most played.

Today I want to share a homemade pizza, the kind that you can really make at home and show off.

Here we have very good quality pizzas, but surely most of us couldn’t reproduce them at home, either because we don’t have ovens that reach 250-300°C or we don’t have the necessary conditions to be able to make it.

To make this pizza you will only need a common oven at home, a few ingredients and a little patience.

I am sharing this spectacular homemade pizza recipe below and I invite you to tag me in your posts (@federicogonzaleztalvi)) if they decide to do it.

Ingredients

For the mass

  • Flour 000 1kg
  • salt 2 tablespoons
  • fresh yeast 30g
  • Warm water 600 ml

Procedure

  • We begin by making a hole in the flour, a crown, and there we will place the shelled yeast.
  • On the outside of the crown, we are going to place the salt, so that it does not come into direct contact with the yeast.
  • Little by little we are going to add warm water to dissolve the yeast and integrate all the ingredients.
  • We should have a soft dough that does not stick to our hands.
  • Knead until we have a smooth and soft bun.
  • Place the dough in a bowl, cover it and let it rise until it doubles in size.
  • Then we flatten the dough so that it degasses and form four buns.
  • We let our buns rest again for a few minutes, covered.
  • With a little extra flour, we are going to roll out the buns, ideally with our hands and if not with the help of a stick.
  • We are going to stretch them approximately 30cm in diameter.
  • We paint the dough with sauce, we put the selected flavors on it and we take it to a strong oven until it is golden.

For the tomato sauce

  • Canned Perita Tomato 500g approximately
  • Garlic 2 cloves
  • Sugar 1 tsp
  • oregano or basil optional
  • Salt and black pepper required amount

Procedure

  • Step on or process the tomatoes until they form a smooth paste. We add the garlic cut very small and the sugar in case it is necessary. Season and drizzle with olive oil.

Some of my favorite combinations:

Margarita: Tomato Sauce, Mozzarella and Basil Leaves

Fugazzeta: Onion in Feather and Mozzarella or Parmesan Cheese

Pepperoni: Tomato Sauce, Mozzarella and Pepperoni
