In Hollywood, American cinema and television are currently frozen by the Writers Guild of America strike. More than 11,000 screenwriters are on strike since May 2, 2023 to denounce the precariousness of their profession. They ask, among other things, an increase in their salary against inflation. The House of the Dragon series is adapted from novel Fire and Blood written by George RR Martin. The famous author therefore took up his pen to give news of the HBO series whose season 2 is expected for 2024.
House of the Dragon Season 2 Filming Isn’t Completed Yet
George RR Martin first voiced his support for the screenwriters on strike : « I’m not in Los Angeles, so I can’t walk like I did in 1988, but I want to publicly declare my full, complete, and unequivocal support for my Guild. ».
Then George RR Martin made it clear that the strike could continue for quite a while. Nevertheless, House of the Dragon season 2 will not be impacted by the writers’ strike in the USA. ” Filming for the second season of House of the Dragon began on April 11 and will continue in Wales and London. The scripts for the 8 episodes of season 2 were all completed months ago, well before the start of the strike explains George RR Martin.
Filming for House of the Dragon season 2 actually began last month. The production took the opportunity to unveil a first image with the famous Iron Throne. Besides, all the episodes of season 2 went through 4 or 5 drafts before arriving at the final script. George RR Martin has himself confirmed that there will be no further changes to the scripts.
