Zahia Dehar on her chaotic childhood: “I fought a lot against morality”

While she became known in 2010 following a media-judicial scandal which dragged footballers Karim Benzema and Franck Ribéry a few months before the Football World Cup, Zahia, at 31, tried to write a new page in his life. Before this scandal, the young actress had lived part of her childhood in Ghriss in Algeria before settling in Marseille in the Belle de Mai district. A place that means a lot to her, as she expressed it on the set of Daily : “You know, that little girl who was in Ghriss, who is there in front of you. I have the same dreams, the same desires, the same convictions… And especially my culture, music, films… I don’t feel like I’ve changed. It’s the same little girl.” However, things weren’t always easy for young Zahia at school: I struggled a lot with morals and certain judgments. Even at school, I had very few friends because of that.”
