New logistics center in Hohenems: Prerequisites for further growth created – innovative strength and people as success factors.

Inhaus has opened its new, state-of-the-art logistics center in Hohenems. This €8 million project represents a significant step in the company’s ongoing digitization and sustainability strategy.

“heart of the company”

“Our warehouse is the heart of the company. The new logistics center contains everything we can do in terms of customer orientation, technology, service, competence and innovation,” explains Inhaus Managing Director Robert Küng.

More capacity

The new warehouse enabled a capacity increase of 25 percent and thus lays the foundation for further expansion steps. In 2022, Inhaus was able to increase its sales by an impressive 28 percent. The additional 3,500 square meters of storage space created by the construction of the automatic small parts warehouse are already largely occupied.

13 robots in action

The heart of the new logistics center is the automatic small parts warehouse, which includes 26,000 different items or around 550,000 individual parts. These are moved by 13 robots in 11,700 boxes. The value of the goods in the Autostore is around 6 million euros. Küng emphasized that the capacity of the small parts warehouse can be doubled, but that this is the last option for warehouse expansion at the Hohenems location.

More flexibility through automation

The advantages of the new warehouse are manifold. Greater order and structure as well as increased availability increase quality for customers. Automation in the Autostore leads to more flexibility and speed in order picking and storage. In addition, the installers receive an even better and faster service thanks to the most modern small parts storage system in Vorarlberg.

Employees are relieved

Küng emphasizes that the new technology is also changing the working environment of employees. The use of robots relieves physical work and at the same time expands the digital skills of employees. Inhaus is therefore looking for technically interested employees, computer scientists, electricians and software developers.

Inaus is a technical service provider with a focus on energy and plumbing. In cooperation with local plumbers, Inhaus concepts and products are implemented in new solutions for private builders, architects, planners and property developers. Inhaus is a regional trading, service and logistics partner for installers. The company is looking for specialists in the areas of control and electrical engineering, refrigeration technology, heating and refrigeration technology, logistics and services as well as application and network specialists.
