Without Messi or Suárez, Inter Miami wins its visit to Vancouver

CHESTER.- Leonardo Frugis Alfonso scored in added time, Julian Gressel added another goal and the decimated Inter Miami beat the Philadelphia Union 2-1 on Saturday.

Honduran David Ruiz, 20, received a red card in the 69th minute and Miami played with a man less until the 84th minute, when Argentine Tomás Avilés received another one and Miami was left with two players less.

The Argentinian Lionel Messi and the Uruguayan Luis Suárez did not play because they are preparing with their national teams for the Copa América. The duo is tied for third in MLS with 12 goals each.

Alfonso beat defender Jakob Glesnes on a breakaway near the penalty area and, taking advantage of the fact that goalkeeper Oliver Semmle came up to defend on the line, he shot into the net to make it 2-1 in the fourth minute of added time.

Philadelphia saw its four-game unbeaten streak end.
