Speaking at the microphone of Angie Martinez’s podcast on Monday, Kim Kardashian spoke of the difficulty of looking good in front of her children, in the face of the mistakes of her ex-husband Kanye West.
“It’s so difficult”. Letting out a few tears, Kim Kardashian spoke on Monday in Angie Martinez’s podcast about shared custody of her children with Kanye West, whose mistakes regularly make headlines in the press. She tells how she tries to put on a good face in front of her children, no matter what she feels.
“When I drive them to school, and they want to listen to their dad’s music, no matter what I’m going through, or what’s going on in the world, I have to keep smiling and singing with the kids, and act as if nothing had happened. Once I put them down, I can cry a lot,” she says.
“I had the best of fathers,” she adds, referring to Robert Kardashian, who died of esophageal cancer in 2003. “I have wonderful memories [avec lui] and that’s what I want for my children”.
“My children don’t know anything”
Kim Kardashian explains how she manages to protect her children from the outside world. And in particular what is said about her and especially about Kanye West.
The reality TV star explains that her children have no access to any social network – North only uses TikTok on her mother’s phone – and that she even controls what is said at her children’s school.
“My children don’t know anything. At school, some of my best friends are the teachers, so I know what’s going on during recess, during lunch. They tell me what’s being said there. None of the kids never said anything to my kids.”
Kim Kardashian also controls their access to television, to prevent them from falling on content concerning her, or evoking their father.
Antisemitic Tweets
The businesswoman and the singer finalized their painful divorce in March 2022. For months, Kanye West has been increasing provocations, flirting with the American far right, posting anti-Semitic statements on Twitter or questioning the conditions of the death of George Floyd.
Kim Kardashian, for her part, was accused of fraud, after promoting a cryptocurrency whose price collapsed. She has also been in turmoil due to her partnership with Balenciaga, following the luxury brand’s controversial campaign.
While their separation was formalized in February 2021, when Kim Kardashian filed for divorce, the ex-spouses reached an agreement only last November. Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are the parents of four children: North (9 years), Holy (6 years), Chicago (4 years) and Psalm (3 years). The two former spouses have opted for joint custody and, apart from alimony, neither will support the other financially.
