The franchise Granblue It has been with us for almost a decade and over the next few months it will take center stage with the new video games that will hit stores. In the last hours I have had the opportunity to play one of them that has not really been completely new, because it is really a improved and more complete version from Granblue Fantasy: Versus.
As often happens with many fighting games, especially the Street Fighter saga, the spectacular title developed by Arc System Works will return in November with Granblue Fantasy Versus: Risingwith a number of the most interesting additions that make it worth keeping track of, especially if you were encouraged at the time to give the original game a chance.
An edition packed with extras and amazing improvements
I have to say that I would have loved to see in depth all the modes and possibilities that it offers, but the truth is that in this test version the only thing they have given us access to has been their competitive multiplayer to wage non-stop combat one after the other. It has not been a negative at all, because the truth is that each confrontation is so amazing and takes place at such a frenetic pace that it leaves you wanting to play one more game.
In it Granblue Fantasy: Versus In the original, the fact that the character template was too small to be later expanded with various DLC was criticized a lot. However, in this version you can find the 24 wrestlers that we already knew along with four others that will be very familiar to all fans of Granblue Fantasysince they are about Siegfried, Anila, Nier and Grimnir.
With a total of 28 characters to choose the fights without a doubt become considerably more varied, because each one is completely different from the rest with its own most devastating combos and attacks, with slashes, effects and special abilities that will not stop parading on the screen constantly. In fact, at first it was a bit overwhelming for me as it was the first time I gave this game a try and I didn’t really understand what was happening.
Nevertheless, something that I loved is how accessible it isbecause the controls are simplified so that anyone who is not very into fighting games can jump into the action without any problem, both for the attacks that already existed and for the new mechanics that have been implemented.
In this sense we can find Raging Strike to deliver an impact so devastating that it cannot be blocked in exchange for consuming 25% of the energy bar to execute the most destructive abilities. On the other hand, the attacks now have some definitive versions that also consume part of this same bar, although it is worth the investment to reduce our opponent’s life more quickly.
Regarding the rest of the news, we can find visual improvements in all aspects of the graphic section, with some character models that have been updated. In turn, before starting each fight it is possible to vary the skin of each character between two different ones, while the design of the weapons can also be modified between three different ones in order to choose the aspect that each one prefers and be even more different.
On the other hand, despite the fact that it has not been studied in depth, the story mode will be expanded with a third chapter, so those who enjoyed the first two will be able to continue their adventure with more challenges. Regarding the online, it will have netcode rollback and crossplay so that anyone can play with their friends regardless of the platform from which each one connects.
And if you are one of those who causes you some rejection, go directly online to see your faces against professional players, a function called Partners will be added. Basically what it does is that some of the main characters appear with chibi versions to leave you messages of encouragement if you lose or congratulations if you win.

Despite being a pure and hard fighting game, it is curious that one of the most attractive novelties of Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising it’s his new way Grand Bruise Legendswhich could perfectly be considered a completely Fall Guys-inspired mode for those who want to have a fun time without having to resort to beating each other up.
To locate it, you have to access the renovated main room, whose dimensions have increased to become a gigantic island where the room with arcade machines for fighting and other modes, including this Battle Royale, is still there. In it you can gather up to a maximum of 30 people to participate in some nice mini-games, but they can also be controlled by the artificial intelligence itself.
Unfortunately I have not been able to test it to see it in depth, although what they have been able to tell us about is the objective of two of its mini-games: Rising Royale, in which you will have to dodge obstacles and use objects to hinder your opponents; and Gold Brick Hoarder, in which you will have to collect gold bars to transport them to your team’s base to win.
Even so, among the team’s plans there are more evidence to be revealed laterincluding one that will take us to the famous Shibuya crossing.
The different editions in which it will be distributed
Something that will not be very funny to the owners of Granblue Fantasy: Versus It is that it will be necessary to go through the checkout again, since it is not foreseen that any type of discount will be applied. That being said, its launch will take place in three different editionsincluding the standard for 49.99 euros and the Deluxe for 74.99 euros.
Inside the Deluxe is the complete game with all the previously mentioned news, to which are added two additional skins for each character and three more for weapons. And that’s not all, because it also grants access to its future season pass with another six more characters and other variants for weapons and characters.
However, it is also possible to enter Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising without even putting a penny thanks to a free version that will be launched and that will be focused practically on its new Gran Bruise Legends mode as everyone can play it as much as they want. Apart from this, it also has four characters, the first chapter of the story mode and other limited features, so it’s not bad to give it a try before you jump headlong into buying the game.
