The death of Jeff Beck shook the world of music that spoke today to fire one of the best guitarists in the world. The British musician died yesterday at the age of 78, after contracting bacterial meningitis, but the news was released by his relatives this afternoon.

“On behalf of his family, with deep sadness, we share the news of the death of Jeff Beck. After suddenly contracting bacterial meningitis, he passed away peacefully yesterday,” read a statement posted online. “His family asks for privacy while processing this tremendous loss”, concludes the publication that accompanies a photo of the guitarist.

Beck shared stages throughout his career with great artists such ass Stevie Wonder, Ozzy Osbourne, Mick Jagger, Cindy Lauper, Diana Ross, Kate Bush, Brian May, Roger Taylor Y Rod Stewart. And in 1965 he was part of the band “The Yardbirds” as a replacement for Eric Clapton.
