Jenni Rivera’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame vandalized

MIAMI.- Less than a month after the revelation of the Jenni Rivera receives posthumous star on the Walk of Famethe artist’s plaque, located in front of Capitol Records on Vine Street, was vandalized. The information was released by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.

“This morning, fans reported that Jenni Rivera’s star was vandalized. This is unacceptable!” reads a statement posted on the Walk of Fame’s official Instagram account on July 8.

The post emphasized that the creator of the piece had been contacted for its restoration, after some followers tried unsuccessfully to remove the graffiti.

A complaint was also filed with the police, as those responsible were recorded on security cameras in the street and other businesses.

Hours later, it was reported that the Top End Terrazzo company managed to clean the star and return it to its original state.

Reactions

After the incident became known, Chiquis Riverawho recently celebrated her marriage to businessman Emilio Sánchez, rejected the action committed against her mother’s star.

“I can’t handle this. Thank you to my mom’s fans who took the time to help clean her up. Shame on the person/people who did this,” the singer wrote on social media.

The last few days have been filled with nostalgia for the Rivera family, as the singer would have turned 55 on July 2. To commemorate the date, an unpublished video of Jenni celebrating her birthday in 2012 was published, months before her tragic death.

Present at the unveiling of the posthumous star were Jacqie, Johnny, Chiquis, Jenicka and Michael, as well as the singer’s parents Rosa Saavedra and Pedro Rivera, and her siblings Lupillo Rivera and Rosie Rivera.
