MIAMI.- One year after announcing his divorce, the actor Joe Manganiello has broken the silence on the reasons that led to the marriage with Vergara sofa would come to an end; denying the actress, who stated that the reason was because they could not form a family.
Manganiello said that they did try to conceive children at the beginning of their relationship. “We did try to have a family for the first year and a half,” he said in an interview with Mens Journal magazine.
The actor also recalled that he asked Vergara for honesty, since he understood that she already had an adult son (Manolo, 32) and it might be difficult for her to start from scratch again. He told her: “If you’re done with the kids, then I understand. Just tell me.”
However, Manganiello said the marriage broke down because they became estranged, and he denied being held responsible for what happened.
“The reason is because two people have grown apart and sometimes that happens. To be portrayed as having had some sort of midlife crisis, and after nine years I gave him an ultimatum of: ‘do this thing that’s potentially unhealthy for your body or I’m leaving’? That was never me,” he said.
Manganiello is currently in a relationship with actress and dancer Caitlin O’Connor.

In an exclusive interview for The Pason the occasion of the media tour of the Netflix series Griselda, The 51-year-old Colombian said that the reason for the breakup was because the actor wanted to have children with her.
“I am a recently divorced woman. My marriage broke up because my husband was younger, he wanted to have children and I didn’t want to be an old mother. I feel that it’s not fair for the baby,” Sofia Vergara told the Spanish newspaper. “That’s not for me anymore. I already had a child at 19, and I’m ready to be a grandmother, not a mother,” said the actress, stressing that her next partner should be someone who already has children.
Sofa and Joe met at a White House dinner in 2014 and married in November 2015.
The actress is currently in a relationship with surgeon Justin Saliman.
