Chihuahua.- During the first five days of May, there has been only one intentional homicide in the city of Chihuahua, while the month of April ended with a total of 32, according to the Municipal Police Commissioner, Julio César Salas. The commissioner stated that good results have been achieved through arrests and coordination between corporations. It should be remembered that April was the month with the lowest number of homicides so far in 2023, with a reduction compared to March, when 42 were registered.
“We have had good results both in the arrests that have been made jointly and in the preventive areas headed by Colonel Constantino. This month we have only 1 event and we intend to continue strengthening all these areas, ”he pointed out.
He pointed out that the Municipal Police is also focused on prevention and above all also robbery and robbery with violence in the city, for which different operations are carried out from Punta Oriente to Riberas de Sacramento, areas of the city that are farthest from the urban area and that represent the areas with the most conflicts of this nature in the city.
He recalled that although homicides, especially related to conflicts between criminal groups and drug trafficking, are issues of a federal nature, they are kept up to date on collaboration and operations in which support is requested by the authorities at this level.
