Mexico City.- The coronation of Carlos III and Camila was celebrated with a concert where several international stars such as Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Andrea Bocelli gathered to sing to the monarchs on a stage installed on the grounds of Windsor Castle.
Under the direction of Hugh Bonneville, the concert kicked off with presentations by local talents, who left dancing, singing and even acting on stage.
As part of the musical numbers the first names to appear on stage were Olly Murs, Tiwa Savage, the Coronation Choir, pianist Lucy Illingworth and Steve Winwood.
As the night progressed, some pre-recorded messages from stars such as Hugh Jackman, Pierce Brosnan, Tom Cruise, Winnie the Pooh, and Tom Jones dedicated to the King were presented.
The Muppets made an appearance prior to the presentation of Andrea Bocelli, who majestically and imposingly took over the stage.
Later Lionel Richie, accompanied by his piano and big band, was another of the well-received stars during the concert, with his hit “All Night Long.”
The Prince of Wales had a speech where he thanked the public for the special night, and in the name of his father they promised to continue serving their people.
In addition, Katy Perry did not leave the production aside, when she stepped on the stage in a golden princess-cut dress that made her attract attention while she was accompanied by a drone show on the top of the stage while she performed her song “Roar”.
The Californian singer was the act most anticipated by the Princes of Wales, as confirmed by Guillermo through a video captured by a fan who was on the grounds of Windsor Castle.
Katy Perry thanked her audience for the reception and dedicated “Firework” to Carlos III and Camila, as well as to the monarchy and the children present.
Towards the end of the presentation, the Take That group motivated the public to continue dancing as part of the coronation festivities.
Between flags of the United Kingdom, the public cheered the most anticipated artists of the night, whom they accompanied with light bracelets.
