The King and Queen will travel to the French capital on Thursday, where a reception is planned for the afternoon at the Spanish Embassy for the Spanish Olympic team that will participate in these Games.

Later, Don Felipe and Doña Letizia will attend the dinner offered by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) at the Louvre Museum as a prelude to the sporting event, which starts on Friday and will last until August 11.

On Friday, the King and Queen will attend the reception that French President Emmanuel Macron has organised that afternoon at the Elysee Palace for the dignitaries who will travel to the French capital for the start of the Olympic Games.

Finally, the two will attend the opening ceremony at the Place du Trocadero.

For the first time in the history of the Olympic Games, the ceremony will not be held in a stadium but will be moved to the Seine, where the delegations will parade on board boats. The parade will end in the square, where the final part of the show will take place.
