Following the storms of varying intensity that occurred in At paymentthe Municipality ordered a monitoring operation that showed that the accumulated rainfall exceeded 39 millimeters. According to the recorded data, rainfall reached 39.4 mm in San Carlos, 30.8 mm in Tolosa, 29.2 mm in Olmos, 27.8 mm in the Urban Area and 25.4 mm in Abasto, during today’s afternoon. And they detailed that the instability will persist until early Wednesday morning.
“Although temporary flooding was recorded as a result of the intensity of the rain in a short period of time, they did not represent any risk, since the storm drainage system and streams worked well”said the Secretary of Government and head of the COEM, Marcelo Leguizamon.
Given these climatic conditions, the Municipality coordinated an action plan that included monitoring and prevention tasks. In this way, the devices of the Hydrometeorological System remained active, making it possible to obtain real-time data on the behavior of the streams, the amount of rainfall and the state of the storm drains.
As explained by the director of local Hydrometeorology, Mauricio Saldivar: “Until early morning, the unstable conditions that favored the development of afternoon storms will persist. The weather definitely improves on Wednesday morning with little change in temperature.”
