Silvan Widmer and 1. FSV Mainz 05 plan together for the long term. The captain of the Rheinhessen extended his contract early until 2026. The 05ers announced this on Friday evening yesterday. Widmer came to Mainz from FC Basel two years ago for 2.5 million euros. Since then he has completed 64 competitive games for the Bundesliga club.
