The lessees at Steinsjøen gård put behind them a heavy week with a lot of drama. Lina Adampour (36) withdrew from the program after an argument with large farmer Ørnulf Høyer (65). Despite the challenges, the charterers pulled off a demanding week-long mission.

Adapting to farm life in 1923 can take its toll both physically and mentally.

Farmen participant Malin Nesvoll (32) gets to experience that in Tuesday’s episode.

Challenging existence

When Good Evening Norway met the Farmen participant, she said that the stay was far from what she had first imagined.

– Going back 100 years in time was very challenging, much more than I thought, says the 32-year-old.

Nesvoll says that she herself is a big fan of the programme, and had seen everything before she herself moved into Steinsjøen gård.

– When you see it on TV, it looks very cosy, and much cooler than it actually is. It was shocking how much work it actually took to get food on the table, she says.

– There is a lot that people don’t see. When the camera crew goes home, we’re still standing there grinding grain for oatmeal, or eating a cold potato to keep us full.

– It completely unraveled

In Tuesday’s episode, the 32-year-old says that she woke up on the farm with the thought that she couldn’t bear to be there anymore.

To Good evening Norway, Nesvoll tells that she had to talk to the production after the incident, as it became very overwhelming.

– I thought “no, this won’t work”. It completely unraveled, and I thought I just can’t be here anymore. Then I got to talk to someone in the production who said that “it’s a bit of an extreme sport at the start”.

– Suddenly it just worked, and I was relieved that I had actually wanted to do this for a very long time. Then I felt much better, she says.

The influencer shares that she found a lot of support in the other participants on the farm, who helped Nesvoll get through the worst days.

– We in the snoring booth probably took a little extra care of each other, me, Trond and Marit. But I also felt that all the other participants looked after me and were there for me.

Feeling of mastery

Nesvoll admits that she was very nervous beforehand because she knew there would be no occasion to withdraw from the social life inside the Farm.

– After I calmed down about it, it went really well, she says and continues:

– And then I experienced an absolutely sick mastery which I have taken with me further after The Farm. It became very clear to me that I am actually stronger than I think, and that I can withstand more mentally and physically than I think.

Nesvoll tells God kveld Norge that she believes that the Farmen stay has contributed to her daring to push herself a little more in everyday life.

– Before, I was afraid of feeling discomfort. I got completely anxious and could think that “now I’m going to get sick, now I’m going to be depressed and now everything will unravel” – but then it doesn’t, she shares candidly.

“I against me”

In 2016, viewers got to know Malin Nesvoll through the NRK series “Jeg mot meg”, where she was one of eight young participants who went to group therapy with psychologist Peder Kjøs.

After the TV debut, Nesvoll has created a strong following on both YouTube and Instagram, previously under the name “Makeup Malin”.

In addition to being concerned with fashion and make-up, it has been important for the influencer to show followers the unmade-up and unfiltered sides of everyday life.

The farm celebrity do you see Tuesdays at 21:40, and Wednesdays and Sundays at 20 on TV 2 Direct, and whenever you want TV 2 Play.
