MEXICO CITY (proceso.com.mx).- Mariana Moguel Robles, daughter of the former Secretary of Social Development (Sedesol), Rosario Robles, announced a 15-day tour of Mexico City as part of the process to ensure the candidacy of the Broad Front for Mexico.
In her first official event, Moguel Robles expressed that she is willing to defend the rule of law and Mexican democracy, even when this decision may be unpopular and entail personal and political costs.
Accompanied by her mother, who was head of government between 1999 and 2000, the former deputy from the capital mentioned that she has already made more than 10 tours of the mayors’ offices and that this tour will be similar, with more than 60 tours organized throughout the 16 mayors’ offices .
Moguel Robles clarified that he will wait for the times established by law to define which party he will compete for. Although he made clear his intentions to participate in the coalition made up of the PAN, PRI and PRD.
“We will wait for the electoral processes (to define the party), what does seem to me is that the City has to be an example of maturity and, in due course, close ranks around whoever is best positioned and that we transit it,” he said in front of to his supporters.
At the end of May, a federal judge protected Rosario Robles Berlanga and ordered the arrest warrant issued against her for organized crime and money laundering to be rescinded. However, this does not imply that the former federal official has released the accusations.
