Medford assault suspect violates probation, shackle cut

The suspect in an assault case that occurred last July in Medford, Massachusetts, violated his probation and police have a warrant for his arrest again, according to authorities.

Nature Moncoeur, 18, of Somerville, is the suspect in the attack on Royall Street that took place on July 2.

Authorities said Monday that Moncoeur violated his probation by cutting his ankle monitor, and they have a warrant out for his arrest.

In July, an investigation was launched after a woman was reportedly attacked in her own driveway, after police said she was followed while she was walking at night. Authorities at the time said the suspect grabbed her and hit her multiple times, but the woman fought back and yelled, driving the man from her.

The woman was left with minor injuries.

“There is no respect for life,” neighbor Joan Colangeli said after the incident. “No matter how old you are, you could look the wrong way and someone is going to get mad.”

Moncoeur was originally arrested on July 11 in connection with the assault.

Anyone with information on Moncoeur’s whereabouts is asked to call the police department’s detective unit at 781-391-6767.
