Press freedom advocates, including Reporters Without Borders (RSF), are sounding the alarm, calling on the Greek government to take immediate action to protect journalists who are increasingly facing threats, surveillance, economic and political pressure and harassment through abusive processes.

A delegation from RSF and its partners recently visited Athens, where they met with various media outlets, state institutions and civil society representatives to assess the state of press freedom in Greece – and their findings show that Athens is doing little or nothing to would protect media workers, according to OCCRP.
