Michael Cohen testifies in the trial against Donald Trump

Donald Trump’s former lawyer and former advisor, Michael Cohen, arrived at the Lower Manhattan courthouse this morning to take the stand in the criminal trial over the former president’s secret money payment.

In a video, Cohen is seen leaving his house early this Monday morning, dodging questions from reporters before entering his vehicle.

Prosecutors say he was the one who organized the payment of $130,000 to adult film actress Stormy Daniels to prevent her from going public before the 2016 election about an alleged sexual encounter with Trump in the previous decade.

The former president continues to deny having had sexual relations with Daniels.

Defense attorneys are expected to argue that Cohen has Trump in his sights and therefore cannot be trusted.

His testimony will last several days.

Meanwhile, when Trump entered the court he referred to a New York Times poll, in which he said and we quote: “it shows us leading everywhere by a lot.”

He also recalled once again his innocence and that his judicial situation “is a political witch hunt.”

He fired his verbal barbs at Biden, whom he called “the worst president in the history of the country,” and Judge Merchan, whom he said “is as corrupt and confrontational as any judge has ever been.”
