The national government, through the control agencies of the Ministry of Transportation, ordered the participation of more than 600 agents in 217 points throughout the country, to strengthen controls during the celebrations on New Year’s Eve.
Through the National Road Safety Agency (ANSV), the National Transport Regulation Commission (CNRT) and the Transport Safety Board (JST), a reinforcement of agents was ordered on national routes throughout the country, with in order to control documentation and alcohol consumption in private vehicles, trucks, trains and long-distance buses.
Along these lines, Minister Giuliano pointed out that they want “this year-end, on the eve of the 2023 summer season, Argentines to enjoy and travel safely, that is why we carry out concrete awareness, prevention and care actions on Argentine routes, so that they move responsibly and with good practices”.
As part of the “Travel Safe” 2023 operation, this weekend’s controls are aimed at preventing road accidents and raising awareness about zero alcohol at the wheel and the use of seat belts, both in private vehicles and long-distance buses. .
In the case of the CNRT, it will have 350 agents and 140 mobiles, deployed in 116 points throughout the country. As for the ANSV, it will deploy 263 agents and 118 mobile phones, in 101 points throughout the national territory.
Given the increasing movement on routes as a result of the festivities, documentation will be checked, the state of the vehicles, the use of Child Restraint Systems and breathalyzer controls will be carried out.
For this task, CNRT and ANSV will have agents in different parts of the country, with mobile phones, radars and breathalyzers, added to the technology of drones and mobile radars.
The road authorities recommend going out on the road by car or motorcycle, check that no document is missing to present before any vehicle control; make sure that the car is in optimal conditions to go out on the road and if you drive, do not drink alcohol.
