National Police agents arrested Nacho Cano on Tuesday for allegedly hiring illegal immigrants for his musical Malinchewhich has performed more than 500 times since its arrival in Madrid two years ago, as exclusively announced by the Ser chain.
The music producer and former member of the group Mecano has received several complaints in which she is accused of being the alleged perpetrator of a crime against the rights of the immigrant population and against the rights of workers. The detainee, who made a statement at a police station in the Spanish capital, has been released on bail pending a new court summons.
The premiere of the musical generated a great controversy due to the wishes of the artist, who asked for the Aztec pyramid constructionsimilar to that of Chichén Itzá, in the district of Hortaleza. The residents did not agree with the erection of this structure and collected 20,000 signatures to stop its construction.
Nacho Cano himself has also been in the public eye for his link between the Popular Party and the Government of the Community of Madridled by Isabel Díaz Ayuso.
