The news that fans of Wandinha so much expected has just been confirmed: the series will win a second season by Netflix. The streaming giant released this Friday (6) a video announcing the next episodes, which could reach the catalog in 2023.
At Tudum, Netflix’s official blog, creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar revealed some details about the production:
“It’s been amazing to be able to create a show that connects with people around the world. We are very excited and thrilled to be able to continue Wandinha’s journey in Season 2. We can’t wait to dive headlong into a new season and explore the Never Again School universe even further. We just need to make sure Wandinha doesn’t empty the pool.”
What is Wandinha about?
The series commanded by Tim Burton is a fantasy that accompanies the life of the teenager of the Addams Family entering the School Never Again. There, she will have to deal with new classmates, a love triangle and a monster that is killing the students of the school and the inhabitants of the neighboring town.
With eight episodes, the series conquered the public and left open arcs that should be closed in the next season. In addition, the authors gave hints that they will further explore Wandinha’s relationship with Morticia:
“We feel like we’ve only just scratched the surface with these characters and the actors are so incredible in these roles. Catherine is, I think, an iconic Morticia. The relationship between Wednesday and Morticia is also essential to the show”

Since it was released in November 2022, wednesday, as it is called in the original, has achieved good results. See the numbers:

- More of 182 million subscribers have watched the series since its premiere
- surpassed the mark 1 billion hours three weeks after debuting – joining Stranger Things series 4 and Round 6 as the third title to achieve this feat in its first 28 days
- On TikTok, #WednesdayAddams has amassed over 22 billion views
- Wandinha’s soundtrack reached the 1st place on the iTunes Soundtrack chart, where it stayed in the Top 10 for three more weeks.
- On Rotten Tomatoes, the series won 71% approval from experts and 86% from the general public.
When will the second season of Wandinha premiere?
Netflix has not yet confirmed the release date of the new episodes of Wandinha. But, if it follows in the footsteps of the first season, the second could arrive in November of this year, especially on a Wednesday (to pun on the protagonist’s name).
