Newcastle United join the list of potential buyers for Chelsea’s Jorginho. This is reported by the ‘Daily Mail’. The Magpies could, like FC Barcelona, AC Milan and Juventus Turin, try to get the 31-year-old in January. Jorginho’s contract with the Blues expires at the end of the season. The 2021 Italian champions do not feature prominently in Chelsea owner Todd Boehly’s restructuring plans and is therefore likely to leave the Blues.
Chelsea have significantly younger goals in mind for the midfield center. Jorginho is still in demand under Graham Potter this season. The right-footed player was used in 20 competitive games and still leads the team as vice-captain. In principle, Jorginho can imagine staying at Stamford Bridge. “Our priority is a contract extension”said his advisor Joao Santos recently.
