ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Shohei Ohtani delivered another strong performance on the mound, allowing just one hit in seven innings, as the Los Angeles Angels beat the Washington Nationals 2-0 Tuesday.

Rookie catcher Logan O’Hoppe hit his fourth home run of the season to lead the Angels, who snapped a two-game losing streak.

Ohtani (2-0) set a Los Angeles record with his 10th straight start allowing two runs or fewer. Nolan Ryan rode a nine-game streak like this between the 1972 and 1973 seasons.

The Japanese superstar, who shines just as well on the mound as he does with the bat, handed out four walks and struck out six. He has allowed just one run in his first three starts and has a 0.47 ERA.

According to Sportradar, Ohtani is the 14th pitcher since 1901 to go at least 19 innings in his first three starts, allow one earned run or less and strike out at least six times in every outing.

The latest to do so were Tampa Bay’s Tyler Glasnow and San Diego’s Joe Musgrove.

The loss went to Josiah Gray (0-3).

For the Nationals, the Dominicans Jeimer Candelario 4-0, Víctor Robles 2-0. The Mexican Joey Meneses 3-0. The Venezuelan Keibert Ruiz from 2-0.

For the Angels, Venezuelan Luis Rengifo 4-0. Colombian Gio Urshela 3-1.
