Dear readers, we would like to take this opportunity to inform you about upcoming changes to our moderation times.

We brought forward the moderation and opening times by an hour. That means, from Thursday the moderation of the comments will take place from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. You can comment further until 10 p.m. As usual, the comments of the last hour will be viewed the next morning.

At weekends and on public holidays, moderation has so far only taken place from 12 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The same times as on the weekdays apply here as well.

As most users of the comment function have already noticed, placing paragraphs works again. We have also improved the display of the discussion threads so that the respective reference is more comprehensible by indenting the comments.

Unfortunately, the presentation in chronological order will take some time. We are also planning a system change for our community tool because of this function. However, we cannot announce an exact date yet.

Since some members of the Tagesspiegel community kept asking where to find their own comments in the profile: If you have opened the comment column, you will see two tabs at the top right, Comments and profile. If you on profile click, you get to the overview of your written contributions and by clicking on the field “View discussion” at the top right of the respective comment you get to the corresponding strand.

We would also like to take the opportunity to talk about dealing with each other in the comment column and to give answers to general questions about the comment function or the website. Our editor-in-chief Christian Tretbar and community boss Atila Altun are available for this. We are looking forward to your feedback.
