The telecom operator has announced the end of its tool for creating personal websites. Users have a few months to retrieve their content.

In the world of amateur personalized websites, many know Skyblog. But another company has allowed for many years to easily and quickly create personal sites: Orange. Unfortunately, the operator’s “Personal Pages” service will soon close its doors for good.

From September 5, 2023, the service will indeed be stopped, as announced by Orange and noted by the site MacGeneration. However, users of this option will be able to keep their files intact until January 9, 2024, the time to migrate their content to a new site.

Colorful designs and fancy fonts

“Personal pages” has so far made it possible to create one to six websites, alone or with the help of assistance. This service thus offered the possibility to any individual or organization to create its own showcase site, with more or less aesthetics and subtlety. Gîtes, associations or teachers could thus share with as many people as possible their offers of accommodation, news or even the latest math homework to be done.

These sites, many of which have already migrated to another host, indeed expose often very colorful pages with heterogeneous fonts and designs. However, many pages are still active and will have to focus on migrating their content.

To do this, users will have to go to their “Personal pages” dashboard, and make a data recovery request to download their content. Until then, internet archive enthusiasts can still visit on the Orange website to discover some of these relics, now overtaken by the millions of pages created on social networks.
