Led by Morgan Neville, this project will explore the 1970s, after the end of the Beatles and in full rise of the Wings, the group that Paul McCartney created including his wife, Linda, in 1971, “a brilliant and prolific period”, according to a press release relayed by NME.

“As a lifelong obsessed with all things McCartney, I’ve always thought the 1970s was the largely under-examined part of his story,” Neville said in a statement.

“I am thrilled to have the chance to explore and revisit this pivotal moment in the life and work of a great artist.”

The Scrapbook band on the run, which gives its title to the documentary, is the third album of the Wings. Released in 1973, it was McCartney’s biggest commercial success after the Beatles broke up.

“A story never told”

“For me, the story of what happened to Paul McCartney after the Beatles, when he had to rediscover himself, has never been told,” said Morgan Neville.
