In an interview with IGN before Christmas, Tobias Sjögren from Starbreeze Studios told us that production of Payday 3 was “very well underway”, and now the Swedish developer confirms this with a new teaser trailer for the game.
The game switched to Unreal Engine 5 midway through, to good effect.

The video shows little else than some silhouettes against an evening sky with New Year’s rockets, above a big city – apparently made in the game engine – but says in plain text that “this is the year of Payday 3”.

The studio has until recently had problems with relatively tight finances, but this latest information suggests that they are now fully sticking to the plan.

The game still has no set release date, however The Steam page is up.
