Broward County authorities in South Florida are investigating the death of a one-year-old boy that occurred this Wednesday morning.

Agents from the local sheriff’s office reported the minor died at a home in West Park at dawn Wednesday, he cited NBC News.

The report states that police responded to an emergency call involving the child and proceeded to a home in the 3800 block of Southwest 58th Terrace around 6 a.m.

The place was fenced off and the homicide department and detectives are there to analyze the alleged crime scene.

The Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death of the boy, whose identity was not released, authorities said.

No further details of the event have been disclosed.

In April, the body of a two-year-old boy was found in the jaws of a Florida alligator after police found his mother murdered in the apartment where they had recently lived.

In this case, the alleged murderer of the minor was the child’s own father. The man has been in custody ever since.
