Prado Museum illustrates the song The Power of Art by the singer Robe

MADRID.- He Museo del Prado has illustrated the song The power of art of the singer Robe with images of a total of 27 construction from the 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th centuries artists like Titian, Velzquez, Rubens or Caravaggio.

The art gallery has shared on its social networks a video of more than three minutes in which some works appear while the artist’s song plays in the background. The Prado explained that it has proposed this unexpected collaboration between classical art and transgressive symphonic rock as a way of reclaiming the evocative power of images and the possibilities of combining different artistic expressions.

The power of art demonstrates that there is a deep link between apparently distant disciplines and that these can always acquire new and inspiring readings,” says the Prado.

Meaning of the song

The song, more than nine minutes long, belongs to Robe’s latest album, The air takes us awayand reports that art: “can save from an inert, sad life and a bad death.”

“The word inert comes from the Latin inert inertwhich is formed by the prefix in (sin) and the root ars artis (art). Is it a coincidence or is it that at some point we realized that without art it is the same as without life? Painting doesn’t need music, it already has it. And music doesn’t need images, it already has it. We are the ones who need someone to save us from an inert life. Thank you, Prado Museum,” said the artist, according to the Prado.
