She gave up her privileged life as a representative of the Norwegian royal family for love last year. But probably not as voluntarily as originally claimed …
Princess Märtha Louise of Norway (51), the older sister of Crown Prince Haakon (49), spoke about many things that are on her heart in a tearful TV interview.
It was only in November that Märtha Louise announced that no longer perform official duties and appearances on behalf of her father, King Harald (85). She can still call herself a princess. One of the reasons for the withdrawal: after her engagement to the controversial US shaman Durek Verrett (48), there was criticism that she was mixing commercial interests and her title.
Princess Märtha Louise decided to take the step after consulting her father and her immediate family three months ago.
In an interview on Swedish state television, Märtha Louise now emphasizes: “I was happy to take on official tasks.” She leaves open whether her resignation was voluntary. But she doesn’t rule out a royal comeback: “If that’s the case, I’ll say ‘yes’ to it.”
But that is unlikely. Because your fiancé is increasingly caught in the crossfire. Criticism hailed, among other things, for his curious claim to have cured his corona infection with a medallion that he sells on his website for $ 222.
Princess Märtha now says she wouldn’t stand by everything her fiancé says. “He didn’t say it like that,” she simultaneously justifies his medallion claim. And feels otherwise misunderstood.
The parallels to the royal exit of Prince Harry (38) and Duchess Meghan (41) cannot be overlooked for them either. So she would understand well his move to leave his native country.
Märtha: “If he thinks he can save Meghan in this way, I think that’s very clever of him.”
Princess Märtha still lives in her native Norway, but she doesn’t rule out a move either: “We’ll see. You never know what life has in store for you. That I have learned.”
