Fans of the band have been waiting for news about a possible release for a while. And it is that the emotion grew a lot in October 2022 when Jesse Hughes, miembro de Eagles of Death Metalgave an update not only on the group he shares with Josh Homme, but also on the latter’s main project, Queens of the Stone Age.
Basically, Hughes said in a broadcast on Instagram what Queens of the Stone Age had just finished recording a new albumso now Homme could enter the studio with Eagles of Death Metal.
So the wait has been long since that revelation, but finally Queens of the Stone Age is back with their new song titled “Emotion Sicknes”which they released on May 11 and the truth is that we needed some good guitar punches courtesy of Josh Homme and company.
To give you an idea of how things are, with this song, the band returns to their bluesy roots and a bit to the sound that we hear on records like Era Vulgaris. In addition to blowing our heads with this new song, Queens of the Stone Age confirmed that this 2023 they will also release their eighth studio albumwhich will be named In Times New Roman…and it is the first one that they launch since Villains of 2017.
This album was recorded at the Pink Duck studios of the leader of Queens of the Stone Age, as well as at Rick Rubin’s Shangri-La studio. For this album the band decided to do the production on their own, and they only had the help of Mark Rankin for the mix.
