In recent days, the news from Ubisoft’s side has not been great and morale has not been high, but if there is one undeniable success that is not about to slow down, it is Rainbow Six: Siege. Since its release in 2015, Ubisoft’s tactical FPS has become essential, benefiting from a loyal and committed community as well as a great e-sports scene. For this Year 8, Ubisoft has once again planned some great new features presented just recently.

See you on March 7 for the launch of this Year 8

As usual, Ubisoft presents us with the usual infographics of the roadmap with the classic diagram: four seasons spread over a year with a new operator per season and new gameplay and map redesigns among others.

To start with Season 1, we will have the pleasure of discovering the new Brazilian operator Brava, playable in attack. As part of the Viperstrike unit, the latter will notably be able to use its Drone Kludge to hack into enemy equipment. In terms of gameplay and balancing, keyboard/mouse players on console will have a penalty (increase in input to force them to use a controller on console) and a new immersive reload will be introduced.

For the following three seasons, we will respectively be entitled to a Swedish, South Korean and Portuguese operator. New modes will be introduced in the shooting gallery, the map Consulate and the Frost operator will be entitled to an overhaul, the Quick Match mode will return and for Season 4, we will have the pleasure of discovering a new map as well as a new use of the shield mechanism.

As always, the protection of players and the benevolence of users will be a priority for Ubisoft Montreal worked on as a common thread throughout Year 8.

Rainbow Six Siege is available on Xbox Series X, Series S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC and the game will be cross-playable by the end of the year. Rainbow Six Siege is also accessible in its entirety for Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
