As expected, realme has the new smartphone realme GT Neo5 presented. Two versions are coming onto the market: one with 240 watt fast charging and one with “only” 150 watt fast charging, but with a slightly higher battery capacity. As a design accent, both mobile devices use an illuminated LED rectangle on the back.
The SoC of the realme GT Neo5 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. For the variant with 240 watt charging, you can use 16 GB of RAM and either 256 GB or even 1 TB of storage space. The 150-watt version is available with 8, 12, or 16 GB of RAM and only 256 GB of capacity. Either way, an AMOLED screen with 6.74 inches, 144 Hz refresh rate, 1,500 Hz touch sampling rate, 100% DCI-P3 coverage and 2,772 x 1,240 pixels as resolution is used as the display.
As already mentioned, the battery size differs between the two versions: If you buy the realme GT Neo5 in the 240-watt version, you will accept a battery with 4,600 mAh. The 150 watt version uses a larger 5,000 mAh battery. The selfie camera in a central punch hole is 16 megapixels, while the main camera is 50 (wide-angle, OIS, Sony IMX890) + 8 (ultra wide-angle) + 2 (macro) megapixels.
Internally, the realme GT Neo5 uses a cooling solution with a vapor chamber and several layers of graphite, so the manufacturer promises that peak performance will last as long as possible. The operating system is Android 13 with realme UI 4.0 as the user interface. The aforementioned rear LED can also serve as a notification light. You can also customize them for different apps – that sounds nice indeed. For example, the LED may flash red when the battery level falls below 20%.
In China, the realme GT Neo5 appears in the colors white, blue and purple. In terms of price, you end up with the equivalent of 439 euros for the variant with 240 watt charging and 16 / 256 GB. If you increase the storage space to 1 TB, you should pay 480 euros. If you limit yourself to 150 watts for charging, then it amounts to the equivalent of 343 euros for the offshoot with 8 / 256 GB. With 12 / 256 GB it would then be 370 euros. For the realme GT Neo5 with 150 watt charging and 16 / 256 GB, the price is 398 euros.
