It was the other day that developers Arkane Austin made headlines by announcing that their upcoming game Redfall will not offer 60 frames per second or so-called performance mode at launch. The game, which is console-exclusive for Xbox – both Series S|X and One – but is also released for PC, will thus unlock higher image update possibilities only after an upcoming update. But it has apparently not been thought of for a very long time.

Now quite nimble diggers have found evidence in archived files on the Xbox Store website that the game was actually marketed at 60 frames per second, but that this has since been removed. In addition to this, console mouse and keyboard support has also been removed, as well as “Variable Refresh Rate” support.

Dishonest marketing or honest mistake? Time will tell…
